Six Christchurch businesses have been named as finalists in the 2018 NZ Hi-Tech Awards.
The annual awards – in their 24th year – celebrate the success of the country’s producers of goods and services from the software, electronics, telecommunications, mobile, agritech, creative and other high-tech industries. They are run by the NZ Hi-Tech Trust, a not-for-profit organisation aimed at promoting and supporting the wider industry.
Christchurch companies made up 15 percent of the total award entries and also 15 percent of the finalists announced last night (Wednesday 28 March).
The Christchurch finalists are:
- Enatel and MARS Bioimaging, both in the Endace Innovative Hi-Tech Hardware Product Award
- Banqer, in the New Zealand Venture Investment Fund (NZVIF) Hi-Tech Start-Up Company of the Year
- Invert Robotics and Link Engine Management, both in the Coretex Hi-Tech Emerging Company of the Year
- Shuttlerock, in the ATEED Best Hi-Tech Solution for the Creative Sector
Chair of the Hi-Tech Trust Jen Rutherford says the awards continue to be the New Zealand technology industries most important celebration of success and a wonderful showcase for innovation and talent.
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner being held in Christchurch on 25 May as part of Techweek 2018.
